This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and supportive school environment. The position is full-time and permanent, with the role commencing in September 2025.

The school hiring are based in Southampton. It is a mixed comprehensive secondary school. They’re rated as a “Good” performing school overall.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality Sociology lessons to secondary school students.

  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in accordance with the curriculum.

  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

  • Support the development of students’ critical thinking and analytical skills.

  • Collaborate with other teaching staff to enhance the delivery of Sociology across the school.

  • Contribute to the wider school community and take part in extra-curricular activities as required.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Sociology or a related field.

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent teaching qualification.

  • A passion for Sociology and teaching, with the ability to engage and inspire students.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience teaching Sociology at secondary school level is desirable but not essential.
