SEND Tutors Required (Alternative Provision – West Drayton, Hillingdon)
We are recruiting qualified teachers and experienced tutors to provide 1-to-1 and small group tuition to pupils in and around West Drayton and the wider Hillingdon area.
These roles support young people who are not currently in mainstream education or who require additional support due to SEND and/or SEMH needs. Tuition can be delivered face-to-face, online, or through a blended approach, depending on the individual learner.
There are multiple positions available, with a steady flow of referrals from schools and local authorities across the borough.

This is a flexible and rewarding opportunity for educators who want to work more closely with students and move away from traditional classroom settings.
Role Overview
- Provide tuition across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) in line with your experience
- Support learners from KS1 to KS5
- Work with pupils with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
- Sessions may take place in homes, schools, community settings, or online
- Flexible working, with opportunities from part-time up to near full-time
- Many placements offer up to 5 days per week (approx. 3 hours per day), often continuing until the end of the academic year
Student Profile
Learners may present with:
- SEMH needs, anxiety, or school avoidance
- Autism (ASC), ADHD
- MLD, SLD, or PMLD
A patient, adaptable and relationship-led approach is essential.
Requirements
- QTS / QTLS or strong relevant tutoring experience
- Experience supporting SEND or alternative provision learners
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
- Strong understanding of safeguarding
- Ability to travel locally within West Drayton / Hillingdon
