SEND Tutors Required (Alternative Provision – Wokingham Area)
We are currently recruiting qualified teachers and experienced tutors to deliver 1-to-1 and small group tuition to pupils across Wokingham and the surrounding areas.
These roles involve supporting young people who are not currently in mainstream education or who require additional support due to SEND and/or SEMH needs. Tuition can be delivered in person, online, or through a hybrid approach, depending on each placement.
There are multiple opportunities available, with a consistent stream of referrals from local schools and authorities.

Role Overview
- Deliver tuition across core subjects (English, Maths, Science) based on your experience
- Support pupils from KS1 to KS5
- Work with students with SEND, SEMH, and additional needs
- Sessions may take place in homes, schools, community settings, or online
- Flexible working patterns, from part-time up to near full-time availability
- Many referrals offer up to 5 days per week (approx. 3 hours per day), often continuing through to the end of the academic year
Student Profile
Pupils may present with:
- SEMH needs, anxiety, or school disengagement
- Autism (ASC), ADHD
- MLD, SLD, or PMLD
A calm, patient and adaptable approach is essential.
Requirements
- QTS / QTLS or strong relevant tutoring experience
- Experience working with SEND or alternative provision learners
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Two professional references
- Strong safeguarding awareness
- Ability to travel locally within Wokingham
