SEN Tutors Required – Hayes & Surrounding Areas
Quantum Scholars is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, and experienced SEN Tutors to provide personalised 1:1 and small-group tuition for primary and secondary-aged learners in Hayes and the surrounding areas.
We support young people who are unable to access mainstream education full-time, including those accessing EOTAS (Education Otherwise Than at School), Alternative Provision, and learners with a range of SEND and SEMH needs.
With demand for specialist tutors continuing to grow, we are looking to expand our network of high-quality SEN Tutors ahead of the new academic year.
Please note: Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
About the Role
As an SEN Tutor, you will provide tailored educational support designed to meet the individual needs of each learner. Your role will involve helping students build confidence, re-engage with education, and make meaningful academic and personal progress.
You may work with learners who have:
- Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Behavioural challenges
- School avoidance, anxiety, or emotionally based school non-attendance
- Medical needs
Tuition sessions are typically delivered during school hours and may take place in learners’ homes, schools, community venues, or online.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and personalised 1:1 or small-group tuition sessions
- Adapt teaching approaches and resources to suit individual learning needs
- Build positive, supportive relationships with learners and their families
- Support academic progress while encouraging confidence and independence
- Help pupils re-engage with learning and achieve their educational goals
- Monitor progress and provide feedback when required
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or substantial tutoring experience
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND, SEMH, or within alternative provision settings
- Strong communication, behaviour management, and relationship-building skills
- Enhanced DBS certificate on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
- Good understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
- Ability to travel within Hayes and surrounding areas
- A degree in a relevant subject area is desirable
