One-to-One Secondary Tutors Required – Berkshire

We are seeking dedicated one-to-one secondary tutors, ideally qualified teachers, to provide off-site educational support to secondary-aged students in and around the Wokingham area.

This role is particularly well suited to secondary teachers who are looking to step away from mainstream classroom teaching and move into flexible, part-time work, while continuing to make a meaningful impact through personalised, one-to-one support.

About the Role

  • Part-time, flexible one-to-one tuition for secondary-aged students

  • Subjects include English, Maths, Science, and Humanities (subject specialism required)

  • Off-site education delivered locally within the Wokingham area

  • Start date: February, with work available until at least September and likely beyond

  • Hours may vary day to day, allowing flexibility around other commitments

  • Tutors will be supported by and report to our SENDCo

Student Needs & Focus
Tutors will support students across KS3 and KS4, with work including:

  • Subject-specific support aligned to the national curriculum

  • Curriculum reinforcement and exam preparation where appropriate

  • Confidence-building and engagement-focused learning

  • Re-engagement with education for students who may be disengaged

Students may present with a range of needs, including SEN and/or SEMH. Tutors must therefore be patient, adaptable, and confident in building strong, trusting relationships with young people.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status preferred, or significant experience tutoring secondary-aged students

  • Ability to teach at least one secondary subject (English, Maths, Science, or Humanities)

  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)

  • Access to a car and willingness to travel locally

  • Experience supporting students with SEN and/or SEMH is advantageous

Pay

  • Pay equivalent to classroom teacher rates

  • Competitive remuneration based on experience and qualifications

Why Apply?

  • Ideal part-time role for teachers seeking flexibility and improved work-life balance

  • Opportunity to step away from mainstream classroom pressures

  • Focus on individual students rather than full classes and behaviour management

  • Supportive, SEND-focused leadership and provision
