Salary: £25 - £35 per hour

Quantum Scholars are working closely with a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wokingham and are currently seeking experienced Science SEND tutors to support students accessing alternative provision (AP) or Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS).

We are receiving regular referrals for Science tuition throughout the week, typically running across five days, with around 2-3 hours of tuition per day. We’re particularly interested in tutors who are available Monday to Friday and can commit to delivering 2-3 hours of Science tuition daily.

This role involves supporting pupils who are not currently in mainstream education. Many of the students have additional needs, including SEND, ADHD, autism, SEMH, behavioural challenges, or medical conditions.

This is a highly rewarding opportunity to work one-to-one with learners, delivering tailored Science sessions that help build confidence, strengthen subject knowledge, and support their transition back into education. Sessions usually take place in the pupil’s home or a suitable community setting, with potential for online tuition opportunities in the future.

Tutors will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging Science lessons that meet each learner’s individual needs.

Role Overview:

  • Deliver 1:1 Science tuition to pupils outside mainstream school settings
  • Flexible, part-time opportunities
  • Sessions take place during school hours, so daytime availability is essential
  • Roles available across Wokingham and surrounding areas in Berkshire

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) desirable
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g. autism, SEMH)
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to build positive relationships
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience delivering Science tuition
  • Ability to travel to Wokingham and nearby areas for in-person sessions

Please note: Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Skilled Worker visa sponsorship, and applications requiring sponsorship cannot be considered.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Science SEND tutor looking to make a meaningful impact while benefiting from a flexible working schedule.
