KS1 Primary Teacher – Year 2 (Surrey)

Quantum Scholars is pleased to be supporting a Primary School in Surrey that is seeking a committed and dynamic Year 2 Teacher to join them from January 2026. This is a long-term supply role, offered on a full-time basis, with the possibility of transitioning into a permanent position for the right candidate. It’s a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive, forward-thinking school environment while enjoying the flexibility of long-term supply work.
The school, rated “Good” by Ofsted, caters for pupils aged 4-11 and is known for its nurturing, inclusive approach. Inspectors highlighted the school’s positive atmosphere, high expectations, and strong pupil progress, especially significant in Year 2, where learners build key foundations across the curriculum and prepare for KS1 assessments.

Requirements

Qualified Primary Teacher (QTS or recognised equivalent)

Demonstrated experience in Primary settings, ideally within Key Stage 1

A warm, patient and committed approach to supporting young learners

Strong communication, organisational and classroom management skills

Confident in delivering the Year 2 curriculum, including phonics and early literacy/numeracy

Responsibilities

Create a positive, engaging and inclusive Year 2 learning environment

Plan and deliver effective lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum

Monitor, assess and record pupil progress to ensure appropriate challenge and support

Prepare pupils for Key Stage 1 assessments in a structured, supportive manner

Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues and school leaders

Build strong relationships with pupils, families and the wider community

Adhere to safeguarding, behaviour and wellbeing policies

Participate in school activities, events and wider community involvement

Maintain consistently high expectations for learning and behaviour
