Quantum Scholars are currently working with a fantastic secondary school in Bedfordshire who are seeking a qualified and experienced Maths Teacher to join them immediately. This is a long-term position running until the end of the academic year.
The school is a co-educational secondary with a sixth form, recognised for its commitment to academic excellence, personal development and strong pastoral care. They deliver a knowledge-rich curriculum across KS3, GCSE and A-Level, offering a broad and balanced range of subjects. The school has been rated “Good” by Ofsted.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured Mathematics lessons across KS3, KS4 and potentially KS5.

Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level examinations, ensuring strong progress and attainment.

Teach a broad Maths curriculum, including algebra, geometry, statistics, probability and problem-solving.

Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including high-achieving students and those with SEND.

Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes excellent behaviour for learning.

Assess, monitor and report on student progress in line with school policies.

Provide clear and constructive feedback to support pupil development and exam readiness.

Contribute to curriculum planning and the ongoing development of the Maths department.

Attend departmental meetings, parents’ evenings and wider school events.

Uphold the school’s safeguarding policies and maintain high professional standards at all times.
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

A degree in Mathematics or a closely related subject.

Proven experience teaching Maths at secondary level.

Strong subject knowledge across the Mathematics curriculum at KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).

Experience preparing students for GCSE (and ideally A-Level) examinations.

Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage, challenge and motivate learners.

A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care.

An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
