Learning Mentor – Wokingham (11 Hours per Week)
Part-Time | Full Academic Year (Potential to Continue Beyond)
Quantum Scholars are currently recruiting for an experienced and dedicated Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 mentoring support for three young boys in Wokingham who are accessing Education Otherwise Than At School (EOTAS) from September.
This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of young people who require personalised support outside of a mainstream educational setting. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the pupils develop the confidence, independence and practical skills they need to prepare for adulthood and achieve positive outcomes.
As a Learning Mentor, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and meaningful mentoring sessions tailored to each young person’s individual needs. Your focus will be on supporting their personal and social development, encouraging independence, and helping them build essential life skills in a nurturing and supportive environment.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting young people with confidence building and self-esteem.
- Helping to develop important life skills and promote independence.
- Preparing pupils for adulthood through practical and personalised support.
- Building positive and trusting relationships with each young person.
- Delivering mentoring sessions that are engaging, motivating and suited to individual learning styles.
- Encouraging social and emotional development whilst celebrating progress and achievements.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience working as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Tutor or within a similar role supporting children or young people.
- Is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning and personal development.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is patient, empathetic and adaptable in their approach.
- Can build strong, professional relationships with both pupils and other professionals involved in their support.
This is a part-time position offering 11 hours of support per week. The provision is expected to run throughout the full academic year, with the potential for the support package to continue beyond this period.
