Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4 (with potential for KS5 depending on experience)

Contribute to the development of a broad and balanced DT curriculum

Foster a positive learning environment where students feel inspired and confident to develop their technical and creative skills

Monitor, assess, and report on students’ progress in line with school and national expectations

Participate in departmental meetings, school events, and CPD opportunities

Uphold the school’s values and contribute positively to the wider school community
Requirements

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
-
Degree in Design Technology or related subject

Strong subject knowledge across key DT disciplines (e.g., Resistant Materials, Product Design, Engineering, or Graphics)

A commitment to high standards of teaching and learning

Excellent classroom management skills

Passion for Design Technology and a desire to inspire young learners
