1:1 Tutor Required – General Tuition – Torquay and Nearby Areas of Devon

We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable 1:1 Tutor to provide personalised tuition to students in Torquay and nearby areas of Devon. This role involves delivering tailored support across a range of subjects, depending on the needs of each individual learner.

The successful candidate will work with students of varying ages and abilities, helping to build confidence, close learning gaps, and support academic progress. This may include primary and/or secondary level tuition.

The ideal candidate will have a strong academic background and excellent communication skills, alongside a genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential. The ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual needs is essential.

As a Part-time 1:1 Tutor, you will work closely with our education team to develop and implement personalised learning plans. This may involve assessing current attainment levels, identifying areas for development, and delivering engaging, structured sessions that support measurable progress.

The position offers a competitive hourly rate of £25-£35, with flexibility to accommodate your schedule. We value work-life balance and are committed to supporting our team.

To be considered for this role, you must have:

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), ideally with QTS or relevant teaching/tutoring qualifications

Experience supporting students in a tutoring or teaching capacity, preferably in a one-to-one setting

Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum (primary and/or secondary)

The ability to differentiate and adapt sessions to meet individual student needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students succeed

Flexibility to work part-time hours

The ability to travel to students’ homes or agreed locations within Torquay and nearby areas of Devon
