SEND Tutor – Alternative Provision & EOTAS
Location: Wokingham
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday | Flexible Hours (Regular referrals available from September 2026)

Quantum Scholars is seeking passionate and experienced SEND Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one tuition and support for children and young people across Wokingham.
This rewarding role involves working with pupils accessing Alternative Provision and Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS), supporting them to re-engage with learning, develop confidence, and achieve meaningful academic and personal progress through tailored, engaging sessions.
The Role
As a SEND Tutor, you will deliver bespoke 1:1 support to primary and secondary-aged learners with a range of additional needs who are unable to access mainstream education.
Your sessions will be tailored to each learner’s individual needs and may include a combination of academic tuition, emotional support, and strategies to develop confidence, resilience, and a positive relationship with education.
Responsibilities include:
- Delivering personalised 1:1 tuition and support in core subjects where appropriate.
- Adapting learning activities to suit each pupil’s abilities, interests, and educational goals.
- Supporting learners with SEND and SEMH needs to overcome barriers to education.
- Building positive and trusting relationships that encourage engagement and progress.
- Providing tuition during school hours, Monday to Friday.
- Working closely with families and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each learner.

- SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- ADHD
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
- Anxiety and Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
- Trauma or adverse childhood experiences
- Medical needs
- Behavioural challenges
Requirements
We’re looking for individuals who have:
- Experience working with children and young people with SEND and/or SEMH needs.
- Previous tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or learning support experience.
- A patient, flexible, and engaging approach to supporting learners.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to adapt their approach to meet individual learning needs.
- An Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
- The ability to travel within the Wokingham area (highly desirable).
