One-to-One English and Maths Tutors Required – Hillingdon

We are currently seeking dedicated one-to-one tutors, ideally qualified teachers or experienced tutors, to provide off-site English and Maths tuition to primary and secondary pupils across the Hillingdon area.

This opportunity is perfect for educators looking for an alternative to mainstream classroom teaching, offering flexible, part-time work while continuing to make a real impact through personalised support.

About the Role

  • Flexible, part-time one-to-one tuition for primary and secondary-aged pupils

  • Delivering English and Maths sessions, tailored to individual learning needs

  • Providing off-site educational support across Hillingdon

  • Start date: ASAP

  • Flexible working hours to fit around existing commitments. Tuition sessions will take place during school hours.

  • Tutors will report directly to and receive support from the SENDCo

Student Needs & Focus

Tutors will work with pupils across EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3 and KS4, with a focus on:

  • Progression in English and Maths

  • Phonics, reading, writing, and numeracy skills

  • Building confidence and encouraging engagement in learning

  • Supporting pupils who are currently outside of mainstream education to re-engage

Many students may have additional needs, including SEN and/or SEMH. We are therefore looking for tutors who are patient, adaptable, and skilled at building positive and trusting relationships.

Requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status preferred, or substantial tutoring experience at primary and/or secondary level

  • Strong ability to teach English and Maths

  • Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)

  • Enhanced DBS (Update Service preferred)

  • Access to a vehicle and willingness to travel locally within Hillingdon

  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and/or SEMH is desirable
