🎓 ECT English Teacher – Essex | January 2026 Start | Permanent, Full-Time

Quantum Scholars are delighted to be working with a forward-thinking secondary school in Essex seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Early Career Teacher (ECT) of English to join their team from January 2026.

This full-time, permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and passionate new teacher to begin their career in a supportive and well-resourced English department. You’ll be teaching English across Key Stages 3-4, with opportunities to develop and grow as part of an experienced, collaborative team.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4

  • Inspire students to develop strong literacy skills and a love of literature

  • Contribute to curriculum planning, assessment, and departmental initiatives

  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports all learners

  • Work closely with mentors and colleagues to develop your teaching practice

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or pending completion of teacher training

  • Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for English Language and Literature

  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills

  • A genuine passion for inspiring and supporting students to reach their potential
