Reporting to: Head of Mathematics

We are working with a great secondary school based in Slough, Berkshire who are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teacher of Mathematics to join them in January 2026. The school hiring are Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The school is dedicated to providing outstanding education while nurturing a culture of Courage, Compassion, and Commitment.

This role offers the opportunity to teach across Key Stage 3 and 4, with the potential to step into a leadership role as Head of KS4 or KS5, supported by a TLR 2A (£3,527).

Leadership Responsibilities (KS4 or KS5)

As part of your leadership role, you will:

  • Lead the development and performance of your key stage within the Maths department

  • Promote the vision, ethos, and values of the department and wider school

  • Raise standards of achievement, behaviour, attendance, and engagement

  • Oversee curriculum planning, teaching quality, and assessment strategies

  • Track student progress and implement effective intervention strategies

  • Mentor and support Early Career Teachers and PGCE trainees

  • Build strong relationships with parents and carers

General Teaching Responsibilities

In your teaching capacity, you will:

  • Plan and deliver creative, engaging, and high-quality Maths lessons

  • Foster a positive and stimulating classroom environment

  • Contribute to school life through clubs, activities, and events

  • Communicate regularly with parents/carers about student progress

  • Set high expectations for behaviour, effort, and academic success
