Functional Skills Tutor – Alternative Provision & EOTAS
Location: Wokingham
Working Pattern: Monday – Friday / Flexible hours (Regular referrals available from September)
Delivery: Home-based 1:1 tuition
Start: September 2026
Quantum Scholars is seeking experienced Functional Skills Tutors to provide personalised one-to-one tuition for both primary and secondary-aged pupils in Wokingham.
This rewarding role involves supporting young people accessing Alternative Provision or Education Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS), helping them build confidence and make progress in Maths, English, and Science through tailored, engaging lessons.
The Role
- Deliver 1:1 home-based tuition in Maths, English, and Science.
- Support primary and secondary-aged pupils with diverse learning needs.
- Adapt lessons to suit each pupil’s individual abilities, learning style, and educational goals.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement, confidence, and academic progress.
- Monday – friday sessions during school hours only!
Requirements
- Experience delivering Functional Skills or core subject tuition in Maths, English, and/or Science.
- Previous experience working with pupils with SEND and/or SEMH needs is essential.
- A patient, flexible, and engaging approach to teaching.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to travel within the Wokingham area is highly advantageous.
